The minor problem with what appear to be simple pearls of wisdom is, they can appear asinine at first glance.
But like many things, lack of brevity, does not mean saying something profound or useful.
When I first read that brief quote by Jim Rohn, I was like “Your kidding ”..
But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense on several levels.
And then Rohn expanded on his initial quote and said
“…All too often we will waste tomorrow as we wasted yesterday..”
Nice..!
And another classic Rohn comment was “Each of us must pause frequently to remind ourselves that the clock is ticking. The same clock that began to tick from the moment we drew our first breath will also someday cease.”
Scary but true..
In 2014, male life expectancy in Australia climbed to 80.3 years, up from 80.1 in 2013, while female life expectancy also increased by 0.1 to 84.4 years.
Seven countries worldwide have a life expectancy over 80 years.These countries are Australia, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Iceland, Israel and Sweden.
That works out as about 28,160 days alive.
We sleep for one third of that time, or at least some of us do. Which leaves us with about 8,448 days of sleep.
So…we are left with approximately 19.712 days of being awake, in this shared world space.
Hence the obscure title of the first post of 2017 !
I could start talking about levels of self awareness during those 19,712 days but that would segue into truly surreal areas of thought.
So how “busy” were you today ?.
And I mean really busy, with really productive actions that will enhance your life and help you achieve real world goals..
But you just don`t have any spare “time” but somehow have the time to read inane stuff on facebook..
What about time to spend learning about investing ?
Too busy for that as well…? Can you see a pattern ?
So we are going to learn about investing online. Go for it, it should be easy.
Just enter “property investing” into “the google” and its only 116 Million results…delivered in a mere 0.44 seconds. Don’t have time to wade through that, no problem.
